# Why publishers need independent Identity & Access Management [VIDEO]

Managing users and their data across a diverse range of markets, business models, technologies and vendors is complex. As distribution channels splinter, publishers need unifying identity and access management solutions that are independent of:

1. markets and customer types addressed
2. business models adopted
3. technology
4. platform and vendor solutions
