The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) hit a major milestone last month by reaching their fundraising goal of $500,000 to support their Generations Fund.
We also hit a major milestone, which was to donate $5,000 towards that goal. We’re a small organisation, so that’s a meaningful amount of money for us, but we felt it was really important to visibly support this important cause alongside significantly larger organisations in our community.
If you’re not familiar with the Generations Fund, it’s an initiative to provide dependable and sustainable long-term support for SSP’s Fellowship, Mentoring, and DEIA programs. These critical programs support the long term health of scholarly publishing through leadership-workforce development and diversity, equity and inclusion.
As SSP notes, “a community is only as strong as its next generation of leaders” and we need an inclusive and robust profession to secure its future.
We’re proud to support the SSP Generations Fund 🙂.
