We are absolutely delighted to share the news that Michelle Urberg is LibLynx’s new Head of Data!
Michelle joined LibLynx as our Client Success Manager just over three years ago, initially part-time to help us with client support. She inherited a clunky ticketing system that we had long outgrown, an on-the-job training process with minimal documentation, and a mandate to make it better. She impressed us all with her ability to create order out of chaos.
It also became clear over time that Michelle’s interest in, and expertise with, data was a hidden superpower that was underused in her support role. She’s since taken over responsibility for our COUNTER compliance, including annual audits, and introduced regular compliance checks with clients. She helped us migrate our reporting to the new COUNTER 5.1 code of practice last year and is an active member of the COUNTER Metrics Advisory Committee.
More recently, Michelle’s been investigating how AI impacts usage tracking in our community and will be co-leading a NISO pre-conference next month on Tracking Usage in the Age of AI.
As our first Head of Data, Michelle has the remit to shape our use of data to address important challenges like tracking the use of content by agentic AI, identifying and classifying robotic traffic, and turning the increasingly large datasets we generate into actionable stories.
It’s a great way to kick off 2026, and please join us in congratulating Michelle!
